Looking Healthy and Younger

Do you know what the best beauty secret is? Drinking water keeps our bodies hydrated and acts as an internal moisturizer. Water helps prevent pre-mature aging. Make sense?

The human body is made up primarily of water. During the course of the day, we lose much of that water by perspiring, breathing, and peeing. We need to be sure to replenish water every day. It is recommended that people drink as much as two litres of water per day. Waiting until you feel thirsty doesn’t cut it. By the time you are thirsty, you are already dehydrated.

Avoiding beverages with caffeine or alcohol will help keep you hydrated. If you just have to have your three cups of coffee every morning, like me, make up for it by drinking extra water. Your skin will thank you for it. In addition to dehydration, alcohol causes other problems that lead to premature aging. For instance, consuming alcohol overtaxes the liver, the organ that helps to purify the body. It can lead to broken capillaries, especially on the nose and cheeks. You don’t have to quit drinking for the sake of your skin, but you should definitely be mindful of its damaging effects. Drinking in moderation may be okay for you.

By exercising and taking care of yourself you can reduce the signs of aging. Regular physical activity helps your body and your mind stay healthy. I will never tell you to quit eating chocolate no matter what size you are. This is another area where moderation is the key. Make sure you are eating a nutritionally balanced diet. Everything you put in your mouth is reflected in your skin. Foods rich in vitamin C and beta carotene prevent pre-mature aging of the skin. Vitamin E, selenium, and zinc help maintain tissue health, preserve skin elasticity, and slow the aging of cells.

The best way to look after yourself is to make sure that you take regular exercise and diet and try to avoid factors such as smoking, drinking and late nights plus too much sun exposure. If it is too late and the damage has already been done then it might be time to think about plastic surgery or some kind of non surgical treatment as sometimes the only way to repair the damage is a drastic solution.
